Great Bookish Bakeoff – Apple and cinnamon chips

Healthy snack alert! So, if like me you have a massive sweet tooth, it is kinda hard to be healthy. Do not fret though guys, I have found the solution with this mostly healthy and super tasty snack which totally hits those sugar cravings whilst also being one of your five a day!

Mostly when I do this feature, I’m baking and there is a book involved… There was no book this time because this literally takes like five minutes to make, but I did eat them whilst reading (Breakfast at Tiffany’s) so… I guess that still counts right?

Anyway, here is what ya’ll are going to need if you want to try this at home.

2 apples – crisp ones rather than sweet ones
a splash of olive oil
A frying pan/ wok
A bowl
A spatula
A spoon.

First things first, peel, core and slice your two apples, splash a bit of oil into the frying pan and let the oil heat up. In the bowl, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon and stir together. Put your apple slices into the pan and continually turn them until they’re browned off. Turn off the heat and place each apple slice into the bowl of sugar and cinnamon, turning each one until covered. Once each one is done, sprinkle any left over sugary concoction over the slices and eat warm. SERIOUSLY, IT IS AMAZING.
